Have you cold smoked with ninja
Is there an ON and OFF Swich?
@@kmh1410 No, it just kinda wakes up when you tilt down the part where you put the flavors.
Made this last night, first time cooking with a probe in. WOW! absolutely amazing, did a 2 inch thick pork loin chop and it was utterly perfect - pulled it out to rest in a cool box at 146. 10/10 - Thank you! 🙏
The probe is the best thing EVER! Number 1 way to improve your cooking in my opinion.
Your enthusiasm for grilling and finding creative solutions is contagious! Your video has inspired us to experiment more with cheaper cuts of beef. 8)
Keep me updated I would love to know if you find any good ones!
Thank you for creating such an informative video. You really made us think about the importance of investing in a high-quality cutting board for my kitchen, and helped us get a better sense of what to look for when shopping for a new board. 8)
Thanks for watching and glad I could help!
How much smoke comes out of this thing? Im in an apartment and dont want hassle from jealous neighbours
At startup there is quite a bit of white smoke but after a few minutes it is not that thick. Very light actually. Now the smell, they may get jealous over that.
@@DadGotThis thanks dude. I love coal on my Weber kettle but get lots of hassle from neighbours and to be fair with stuff like Picanha, the fat creates smoke signals that can be seen in Mars! Just purchased the Woodfire Pro, so excited to get back into regular cooking again.
@@BenSmith-eo6jc this should not be as bad as the Webber for sure. I actually just sold my kettle :(. However something new and exciting might be coming to take its place.
I just made these last night for the family on my Ninja 850, no pro connect 😞, they came out so good. I think this unit is my new favorite appliance. Keep up the great videos!
Throw a solid wireless thermometer in there are you have the most important parts of pro connect!
AND... Unlike 5 Guys - it doesn't cost $40.00!!! (Except you're missing the free peanuts!). Nice cook!
I was SHOCKED the last time I went! I bet I could make like 5 for what one costs.
Thanks!
Thank you!
That steak was like Sexyule Choglit.
I think that’s good…..
When you added the pellets, you didn't give them the Dad Shake... Jus' sayin'.
How dare I! I can’t believe it.
I only have one gripe, I hate that it shuts off the heat to the plate when your searing and you open the lid, ok i also hate that it doesnt get hot enough but I have a Jo junior with soapstone to help me out, I just hate having to close the lid to sear veg, prawns etc. Unless it does keep running then I only have the not hot enough gripe. Great vids, made me buy a Ninja so hopefully they watch this and read all your gripes.....
If you don’t have the Woodfire on in the grill setting you can use it with lid open and full heat. I know it yells at you to shut lid if you have Woodfire on but I’m not sure if it turns off the heat.
@@DadGotThis Thanks, from doing a bit more reading it seems you have to let the grill preheat, open lid, add food, close lid then open it again, I will try this next cook.
@DawgNo1 I know it works because I did it in this video lol. ua-cam.com/video/M_TfcVvFhwc/v-deo.html
I just got this as a gift for Father's Day and found your videos. I'm so glad I did. I'm a visual learner also and your videos are detailed and well paced. I'll definitely be subscribing!
Thanks and welcome aboard!
Awesome Video. I have built a few cutting boards but never thought of adding compartments before that's a really nice touch!
I really like the compartments too!
Went with your first recommendation...😢..You owe me..😂
Hahaha. It’s not a bad board at all. It served me well and it should do the same for you.
I just bought a Ribeye steak to try out. Using this on as my guide. Thank you again.
Let me know how it comes out!
Mr carrier for the AC. I thank him all the time
Well thank you to him!
If I air crisp hassleback potatoes then want to cook my steaks, do I have to clean the grill 1st after air crisp and before grilling the steak
I don’t think so. You would simply take the basket out and wipe down the grate below it with a paper towel. Then cook your steak however you like. May I suggest something like this: ua-cam.com/video/M_TfcVvFhwc/v-deo.htmlsi=HDeVKGjXWZTx7X7F
Great looking boards. Craftsmanship looks good. From this wood shop teachers point of view.
Wow, I remember wood shop! Such good memories.
I'm considering purchasing one of these as I like the versatility and ease of use for smoking. I am also considering a pellet grill. I believe the name is confusing as to what the Ninja Woodfire Grill actually is - an electric grill that is capable of smoking. The pellets are used strictly for smoking and not as a heat source like a pellet grill. My wife won't use my Weber gas grill and a woodburning, charcoal or pellet is more involved than she is willing to do. Therefore, an electric grill makes sense.
After using a full size pellet grill I can say that where the Woodfire really shines is ease of use. The startup and cleanup procedures are SO MUCH less time consuming.
Do you have to let the replacement pellets reignite throughout the cook? Or just dump the old stuff and add new?
You top off, make sure you fill to the top and then reignite. On the older model you need to hold the Woodfire (flame) button for 3 seconds until you see the screen flash IGN. On the Pro Connect XL you just need to press the button and it will say ign. That will re light the pellets.
@@DadGotThis Thank you so much!
Keurig actually made something similar. The ill-fated Keurig Kold.
I think I remember that.
Wife and I just purchased one of these and were looking for some good advice, your video is the best of the lot! Thanks for the tips.
Glad it was helpful!
Man I want one of these! Also extra kudos for the I Love Lucy references, Ethel sure was cranky :). Thanks for the vid.
You bet!
Glad to see the rack was a success. Excellent stuff. 🍖
I was too! Can’t wait to try it on other cooks.
Ohhh gorgeous cutting boards. I’ll have to check this out
They are very nice!
If you clean it every time you use it only needs water and washing up liquid as Ninja advises .
Son, I'm selling my Oklahoma Joe's Smoker after buying the Ninja, Have tried a few things but only bought a week ago. Can't wait to try your recipe / process for brisket
That’s awesome. You can totally use it for the heated rest too. Just did it!
Wish it worked off propane so it could be used without electricity during outages or camping.
I don’t know of any smokers that run off propane. There are some pellet grills that are battery operated though.
Son, your video is the bomb. I just bought a Pro Connect XL and have been learning about it. Your video helped so much explaining the different settings and features. One question though,... how do you get it to make a margarita? ;-)
You use the ninja thirsti lol! Thanks for the kind words!
Thanks a lot for the great video.
You are welcome! I was excited that it worked so well.
Be cool if u got the ninja multo cooker
I may have to see about that….
I used chef john from food wishes jerky marinade recipe on some bottom round and let it sit for a whole day. then the next morning I dehydrated it at 150F on my ninja XL for 6 1/2-7 hours with mesquite wood pellets from pitboss. I refilled one time and reignited halfway through. And I used the optional smoking rack from ninja to give my meat extra smoke coverage. taste so good.
That sounds fantastic. Did you slice it thin? I think I need to slice it thinner.
@@DadGotThis I bought it pre sliced thin medallions at costco. then cut it into three long strips per piece. I made maybe 16 or so strips of beef. costed like 4.80 a pound or something. it was thickish like what you would see at a meat store as opposed to jacklinks or something smaller like that.
@@DadGotThis By the way. Have you tried Royal Oak Charcoal Pellets on the Ninja? I ordered a bag that has not arrived yet. But I saw someone on youtube use them on his ninja and he says it taste like a Charcoal grill.
That’s all I cook on is cast iron and I agree with your gripes
Cast iron is just a fantastic cooking surface.
Every time I post on my FaceBook page a result of a creation that I watched your video I always include a link to your channel. Gots to help us grilin brothers out...rights!?
I got rid of my old ninja. They're happy to get it.I'm happy to upgrade
That’s awesome!
Love your videos, but can’t find links? I like to order some accessories.
Links to ninja, and Kona pellets in description. What accessories in particular are you looking for?
Nice review! Please can you tell me how much space is required from the front of the grill to the back with the lid open?
It needs to be about 5.75 inches away from the wall for the XL version at least.
With a piece of meat like chuck or eye of round I souse vide to 115 farenheit for 27 hours and then smoke. Comes out much more tender. Eye of round I use my slicer to slice it thin for roast beef sandwiches. Yummy
Sounds delicious.
Ignition cycle too long.
Have you ever tried starting a full size pellet smoker…..LOOOOOOOOOOONG.
@@DadGotThis The ignition cycle on the Pro burns up the pellets in a flaming mess. More pellets are needed in minutes. If the ignition cycle is canceled 1/2 way through, it works better. My comment had noting to inconvenience.
Ahhh, sorry I misunderstood what you were saying.
when i use the "smoke setting" how long does it take for pellets to smoke?? mine takes forever🤷🏼 ty!
Usually within a few minutes 5-10. Are you filling the hopper to the top? The igniter is at the top and not the bottom.
@@DadGotThis ty for responding - yes hopper full - stopped grill (smoker) after about 20 min & restarted on "bake" - started smoking fairly quickly & ign displayed🤷🏼🤞
@paulettehasty5334 did IGN show on smoker setting?
@@DadGotThis no - don't think so -
Did you possibly skip it by holding the start button down instead of just pressing it.
Hi James, I think there is a mistake in the conversion of F to C when you are setting up the cook on the app. 129F is 48.8C, not 93C. 200F is 93C, which will turn the beef into shoe leather.
You are 100% correct, I used the temp of the cooker instead of the steak accidentally.
Have you ever figured out how to create a smoke ring when you smoke brisket or ribs on the Ninja? I bought a Ninja a couple weeks ago and totally love it, but my only minor complaint is there is no smoke ring on anything.
Dad's Top 5 Gripes about the Ninja Wooodfire Grill... ua-cam.com/video/CIo2WcLuLZ8/v-deo.html
@@DadGotThis Thanks! I will do some experimenting and see if there is any way to create a smoke ring. I know it is just aesthetics, but still...
@@stewarthoi I have a few ideas I will be trying too! Let me know if you get it!
Warming rack addition a plus! A wired thermometer does well. But, it gets unmanageable for searing. I wonder if wireless thermometer (like your Inkbird) would work in this grill. As long as the metal shell doesn't act like a faraday cage, you should be able to use a wireless thermometer (just like in an air fryer [which is what this oven is...massive air fryer]).
I have used both my INKBIRD and my meat stick in it without issues.
My son got me the 2 in 1 shark vacuum and mop robot. I have to admit I was very skeptical about how well it would work but I love love love it. Best gift ever. I'm not very tech savvy but it was easy to get started and the videos available are wonderful. Great addition to the family. Love love love it. I can't thank my son TJ enough.
That’s awesome! So glad I could help! Ours has been renamed Bob by the kiddo and he has become a member of the family lol. We say hi to him when he goes to work in the morning lol!
Why won’t smoke ignite on certain settings like grill? That sucks!
It’ll ignite, he’s saying the grill will beep at you if you enable woodfire but then leave the lid open when grilling. No problems with woodfire when you grill with the lid closed and only open to flip.
This 👆👆👆👆👆👆👆
@@classicmomentos I totally understand that, but I was grilling a burger today and tried to ignite the smoker chips and it would not turn on. Not on the grill setting.
@dmxdmx9743 what setting were you on? There are some that do not allow Woodfire. It will 100% let you use Woodfire on grill as you can see in my 5 guys video. ua-cam.com/video/VeNBpS8FvAA/v-deo.html
@@DadGotThis I know. That’s what is strange. On grill high, the fire button does nothing. On the app it’s gray. I will try again tonight.
Awesome! Did you know Chuck Norris never sleeps,he waits
😂
Would love to see a piece of crispy Porkbelly.
I do need to do that!
Great! Thanks! I found it on your link just after I asked...keep up the good work!
Awesome, thank you!
